One of my favorite things is delivering information about gaming world happenings via non-verbal means. It’s easiest when you’re playing an NPC, because you can just act out their behaviour and the faces they make, but it also works while giving a more general narrative. Like, you can duck while talking about low ceilings, or point at imaginary places to show where they are relative to each other.

My other favorite thing (in this page) is showing how an NPC is very obviously bad at something. Players love catching that, and it also helps emphasising how awesome other NPCs are. If everyone is always super dangerous, super clever and super mysterious, then no one is really super at anything and also it’s very tiring to portray all that.
